I am on Vista Ultimate on Intel Quad and 2 x 8800GTX in SLI. ( just to clarify my spec ). Create a new folder on your desktop called pb
Go to www.evenbalance.com and look for the PBsetup.exe file
Save the PBsetup.exe into the new pb folder you have created on your desktop.... ( DO NOT TRY TO RUN OR OPEN THE FILE BEFORE IT IS LOADED INTO THE pb FILE ON YOUR DESKTOP !!!!! )
After the DL has finished, open the pb file and then run the PBsetup.exe
The PBsetup.exe will try to update itself....let it. It will also prompt you to let it update files for various games in a drop down list....including CoD4...let it.
After I had done all of this, my system flashed a warning message that the installation had not been done properly...would I like Vista to re-do it correctly...I said YES!
The whole thing then re-ran and I DL'd all the updates and files again.
After having done all of this I re-booted my machine.
The total time for all of this was about 5 mins, mainly due to my connection being slow at home.
I then fired up CoD4 again....NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER!!!
I hope this helps .This is what i found on google.
